The Compass & Anchor club is open to the public; you do not have to be a member
to rent the facilities.
In addition to the reception, can we have our wedding ceremony performed in the Barn?
Yes, we set up the room especially for the ceremony and provide time for your
rehearsal the night before. We then rearrange the room for your reception after
the ceremony. The fee for this service is $400 plus 20% Service Charge and 5%
Virginia State Sales Tax.
May I provide our own caterer or bring my own food?
The Compass & Anchor Club is a full service Banquet facility and we provide
Catering Services on site for all of your needs. You may provide your own
caterer for ethnic foods only. Outside Caterer must provide their Virginia
Business License and Liability Insurance. If you are not able to find an
approved Caterer by the Compass & Anchor Club, we will recommend one for you.

Can I provide My Own Alcohol?
The Compass & Anchor Club has a VA - ABC (Alcohol, Beverage Control) license.
Our clients or your guests may not bring any type of alcoholic beverages. You
must be 21 years old and older to consume any alcoholic beverages. Our staff
will check Identification Cards to verify your age before any Alcoholic
beverages are served. If any questions should arise, feel free to contact ABC's Bureau
of Law Enforcement or Regional Offices. Also, you can e-mail your

What is your deposit policy?
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the estimated revenue is required at the
time of contract signing. A full payment of your event is required 14 days
prior to your event. We will work with you in working a payment plan within the
time you sign a contract with us and 14 days before your event. All deposits
are final and not refundable or transferable.
When can we decorate the Hall?
Within your contract the Compass & Anchor Club allots a three hour time frame
before your event for decorations at no additional charge. If you require more
than three hours we will offer you an hourly rate that will be applied to your
Do you provide any centerpieces or decorations?
The Compass & Anchor will provide Votive Candles and Mirror tiles for your own
centerpieces. Any other decorations that you would like to have for your event
will be at an extra charge such as, Centerpieces, Chair Covers and Sashes,
Flowers, Specialty Linens.
What is the earliest time I can schedule my reception?
Your rental Agent will work with you to accommodate the time you need for your
wedding reception and suggest times at the time you choose to hold your event
at the Compass & Anchor Club.
Is there a discount for children meals?
Yes, children ages 6 thru 12 are half price from any of the meal packages you
choose. Children under 5 years old are at no charge.
